In this online course, participants will explore CDA® Subject Area 7: Working Across the Child Welfare Continuum. Topics covered include cultural competence in all facets of child and family welfare, comprehensive family assessments, evaluating resource families, community assessments, housing options, respite care, statistics related to child and family well-being, as well as child welfare and foster care issues. Additionally, the course addresses adoption and related concerns, prevention and assessment of substance abuse, treatment services for young parents and adults, cross-system collaboration, casework practices with families impacted by substance abuse, and the role of the courts. The course focuses on children from birth to age five.
This course is part of the 120-Hour Home Visitor CDA series and fulfills 5 hours of Subject Area 7 requirements.
