In this online course, participants will explore CDA® Subject Area 7: Working Across the Child Welfare Continuum. Topics covered include cultural competence in all facets of child and family welfare, comprehensive family assessments, evaluating resource families, community assessments, housing options, respite care, statistics on child and family well-being, child welfare and foster care, adoption and related issues, and the prevention and assessment of substance abuse. Additionally, the course will address treatment services for young parents and adults, cross-system collaboration, casework practices with families affected by substance abuse, and the role of the courts. The content focuses on children from birth to age five in early childhood settings.
This course is part of the 120-Hour Home Visitor CDA series and accounts for 5 hours of Subject Area 7 training.
